Coorg as a district is small but the settlements and populated areas are far from one another, this makes distances seem far. The terrain is hilly and roads are not the best in many stretches surrounded by dense jungles, the commute from one point to the next is challenging and time consuming.
For instance, the distance between North Coorg (around Somwarpet) to South Coorg (around Kutta) would be approximately 3 hours one way. Therefore it's best for someone visiting Coorg to plan what they want to do and most will depend on where you end up staying.
